Six60 ~ Don’t Forget your Roots ~ Aotearoa Nueva Zelanda

Matiu Walters, Eli Paewai, Ji Fraser, Marlon Gerbes y Chris Mac son los Six60 una banda de fusion reggae, hiphop dubstep y drum and bass formada en 2006 en Aotearoa Nueva Zelanda; desde entonces ha participado en eventos musicales de relevancia como el Peak Festival, Area 9 y el Queenston Jazz Festival junto a reconocidos y populares grupos y cantantes neozelandeses tales como Salmonella Dub, Katchafire, Hollie Smith y Tahuna Break. Su nombre se debe al estudio de Northern Dunedin, en el 660 de Castle Street donde pasaban horas ensayando y grabando. Rise Up 2.0” el año pasado se situó en el número cinco de la lista de la RIANZ (Recording Industry Association of New Zealand) y más tarde en el numero uno, alcanzando el disco de platino y oro respectivamente. Nos apasiona Dont forget your Roots (en el video) , canto extraordinario a la familia y a la identidad, mensaje con el que comulgamos; aunque ninguna de sus canciones tiene desperdicio, al menos para nosotros aquí en Tangata O te Moana Nui.
